Countdown...

That time of year has come again... Designers are sweaty in anticipation, organisers are working overtime and models take to the streets for both castings and fittings.  Yes, I am talking about the countdown the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.  This year marks a milestone in Australian fashion history as it is the 15 year anniversary of the glamorous event.

This year my pick of the shows are:

Camilla and Marc - always an edgy choice with a definite feminine edge.

Little Joe - I am hoping for soft, silky fabrics, feminine cuts and resort-worthy colours, such as mint greens.

Manning Cartell - edgy, futuristic fabrics...makes me wonder what they what looks will result for this coming season, as the current collection in stores now has been a sure winner.

Rachel Gilbert - queen of all that is feminine and pretty in a cocktail dress.  I hope to see her trademark sequins on sophisticated, flowy dresses in a range of eye-catching colours.

I imagine the runway will be full of feminine, flirty soft fabrics in an assortment of colours.  The jewellery trends I expect will follow the same statement-heavy path.  Who could live without a colourful beaded chest plate?

Enjoy!!

Live Mannequin Mania...

Mosman was taken by storm on Saturday 27 March, as a hoard of models took to the streets, dripping in Anna Design signature jewels.  Cocktail rings, huge necklaces and stacks of bracelets combined with statement earrings completed the looks for the day.

From lunchtime the models then preceded to stand in the window and perform a live mannequin show.  It certainly was something out of the ordinary and seemed to cause quite the stir on the streets of Mosman.

Collection Launch...

And so the year has already gone so quickly...Before the (short-lived) Easter break, on Wednesday 31 March the official Anna Design collection launch was held at Keystone's Surry Hills Wine Bar.  Among the luscious wildlife-filled decor stood shots from the Anna Design Winter 2010 catalogue and the ranges themselves.
